One who stands for nothing, falls for anything

There are those who make things happen.  There are also those
who watch things happen. And there are those who wonder,
"what happened?”  There is only one, of three lots, that awaits
every living soul: Lead, follow, or get out of the way. As the
hearer of this call responds, so shall his position and portion in
life be marked.

Onicha To Host Oji Ezinihitte Jan. 01, 2008.
But Why Now?

Just one man's opinion.

There's no doubt that the people of Onicha Amiri are excited at the
prospects of hosting the up-coming Oji Ezinihitte, and, of course,
it's the people's voice that counts. But there's just one voice here; a
lone voice, possibly insignificant, in this wilderness stopping for a
second take. Again, this is just one man's opinion, but the difficult
questions need be asked.

We just lost a paramount son, the traditional ruler and cultural
head of Onicha Nwe-Nkwo in the person of HRH, Eze Alphonsus A
Ezeh to the cold hands of death. His fathers are still reeling from
the shock of his untimely arrival. They are yet to receive him, and
we are planning a festive?

He was an associate Eze of Onicha Amiri and a member of the
Onicha Amiri Council of Ndi Eze. Is it prudent to host this festive at
this time? Onicha Nwe-Nkwo, are we in a feasting mood already?
Have we done mourning our Eze? Heaven forbid.

Should we elect to abstain from this merriment, as well we must do,
what is the wisdom in the rest of our brothers feasting away while
we mourn? In what capacity would they host the festive, Onicha
Ama-Asaa? Truly, nobody asked me, but if in the unlikelihood I
were asked, I would suggest that we, Onicha, defer till at least one
year removed.

Please permit me to very humbly apologize if my thoughts rub
anybody the wrong way. They are just my thoughts, meaning no
disrespect to the fathers, ndi-ichie, and Nze na Ozo of our land.
Feel free to disagree with me, and offer an opposing view.

Very humbly yours,

Prince Emeka Onyeneho
