Our Roots, Our Vision

Show me a people without a past and I will show you a people without a
future. It has been said by those of old, "If one does not know where one is
going, one should, at least, know where one is coming from."  When it comes
to the affairs of Onicha and beyond, Umuevu has been there, front and
center, first time, all the time, at ground-zero.

We are blessed with trailblazers of legendary stature, who neither begged for
anyone's favors nor feared his threats. Our now rulers, by virtue of their
abilities and wits, tower above their contemporaries.

What, then, is our excuse for not propelling Umuevu to the head of the line?
Finding none, it becomes our sacred duty to make it so, lest posterity blames
our generation for, not only dropping the torch but also, extinguishing it.

Gentlemen, we, of Umuevu-Onicha, have a past; we have history.  We
definitely know where we're going.  We'll build the future: our future and
that of our children.  We can restore the glory of Umuevu that was, and is no
more.

This is where you come in.  All hands must hit the dirt.  Every son of
Umuevu has a duty  and an obligation to our roots.

The time is now!
Live long and prosper.

Yours brotherly,
Prince Emeka

Nkwo of Onicha Nwe-Nkwo
With incomparable reverence and
adoration, we pay homage to our
revered father,
Chief Ihuoma Nworie,

whose image is not available at this time.
He was, to the best of my knowledge, our
very first Government recognized,
certified chief, to hail from Umuevu
Onicha.
Our Mission

Just about everybody knows, or can rattle off, what is wrong with our society
today.  But no one appears to have a solution, as things continue for the
worse.  With our predicament in mind, we of Umuevu heritage, here in the
Washington, DC Metropolitan area, have rolled up our sleeves to put our
backs, collectively and severally, to it, in an attempt to force a head on
conclusion with our generations menacingly bleak future.

Given that the task ahead is humongous, and the strength in number cannot
be over-emphasized, we of Umuevu lineage, resident in the Washington, DC
Metropolitan of the United States of America, decided to put to the test the old
age axiom: “Many hands make light work.”

For this reason this web site was created.  Tapping in on its universal reach,
we plan to accomplish the following:

(1)        Fish out, summon, and amass every able Umuevunite, man, woman,
boy, girl, old, or young the world over under the one tent in readiness for the
challenge ahead.

(2)        Heighten, to the nth degree, the awareness that the condition will not
go away by itself except we all lift a hand and do something about it, in
agreement to Newton’s Law of motion.

(3)        Identify the problem areas and deal with them according to the
dictates of our purse and ability, ensuring that whatever we do will have
done our very best.  We have our eye on improving the standard of living.
By our reckoning, this may include health, education, employment, and
most importantly, security.

(4)        By the medium of this web site, we will encourage networking.  It will
serve as a global assembly hall where those with problems may meet those in
the position to render assistance.  Furthermore, communication between and
among registered members, through the site’s board, will be easy and free of
charge.

All things considered, this lofty and ambitions undertaking will only take off,
fly, or crash according to the time, will, energy, money, love, and the sense
of responsibility we invest in it.

It’s our hope that if we take care of our little corner of the world, and every
other community follows suit, given the infectious nature of success, the
world is bound to be a better place.

One who stands for nothing, falls for anything

There are people who make things happen.  There are those
who watch things happen. And there are those who wonder,
"what happened?”  There is only one, of three lots, that
awaits every living soul: Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
As the hearer of this call responds, so shall his position and
portion in life be marked.
